I get you 100% A lot of people tell you that it's a compliment to be treated this way but it's very painful. Even minor things become a pain in the a**. I'm 25 but I am told I look like I'm twelve. I can't even pay with a credit card without people automatically assuming I'm using my mom's card and refuse to help me before even asking for my ID. I've gone to bars and been refused in because they think my ID is fake. I went to Vegas but it sucked because I was harassed by security every 2 seconds. I was carded 3 times within a 5 minute time frame. When I go out to dinner with friends the waiters won’t even look at me while addressing the table. Even when I ask questions they’ll turn to the person across from me and answer the question to them instead.
People treat me like I'm a kid wherever I go and I'm not respected at work, despite the fact that I graduated with a 4.0 GPA with 2 majors and a minor while working full time throughout college. I can tell when new people are hired and they are introduced to me they sort of pause in astonishment and don't even go to shake my hand. I think it holds me back a lot. The most annoying thing is when people assume that I am this cute, adorable little porcelain doll that doesn’t like to have a good time. I love to go fishing and hiking and hang with the guys but I’m typically hit on my men who think I like to paint my toenails pink every night.

However, I've grown to accept that I'll always look cute and adorable : ) I get away with a lot more than most people my age. I've gotten really good at the "innocent" act and guys eat that stuff up. Gosh they are stupid.
The good news is that while most people are judgmental and ignorant, not everyone is. I'm madly attracted to older men and luckily for us a lot of them are sick of dealing with whiny old hags. Stay a kid at heart and you'll always have men running after you ; ) A lot of friends will say ‘I don’t understand how you can have so many guys running after you when you look so young and I can’t even get a date.” My answer to them…”I’m not a bitch like you.” ; ) Even when I’m a complete b*** people think it’s cute. Enjoy it.

Yep I know what you talking about. I didn't get to date a girl till I was 17 because no one wanted to date the 12 year old that was actually 16 years old.

I was IDed at the liquor store till the age of 30. And just recently when I did get a date she is 19 years old and the generational gap was way to big. I'm 40 but look 24. It makes many things difficult.

I'm 39, but look around 24. Everybody is like “your so lucky”, but it causes problems. It is hard to find someone to date because guys my age look like my dad or uncle and younger guys dont work out cause I'm just to mature for them.

I know how it feels I am like that as well. I am older than you but I look like 11-15. Everytime I go clubbin with friends they have to check my id like twice. There was this time when I went in and this other guy pulled me back and was like sorry gotta check again you look way too young girl.

you look late teens early twenties to me. I also have same problem and I also think it holds me back in the world of work! Age discrimination and being treated like a child! It is even worse now because of the economy and I can't find a freakin job!!!!

I myself am 20 years old an look twelve to 16. i know girl. i know. Its a gift as well as is ANNOYING. but boy do i love tricking people. it kinda puts a damper on my sex life tho. And i love the attention sometimes lol

You do look young. I have had the same problem. I am 30 and can pass for 22 or younger depending on how I dress. It can be very frustrating. I have a 12 year old son and I am mistaken for being his older sister all the time. I Know how old I am and the years of my life I've experienced. It really used to get to me and I would walk around angry at comments people would make. I don't care what people think now. People judge everyone based on first impressions. That is human nature. YOU are are beautiful person in a small package. Smile and say thank you next time someone says you look young. People who don't have this problem don't even know they are offending anyone. Even though it is the same as saying to someone's face “hey did you know you are really over-weight?” Focus on you and your goals in life.

Hello..I know what you mean..I was in college then and I was with my cousin who was then a 6th grader. The woman we met thought I WAS THE 6TH GRADER! I will never forget her facial expression!
