This is a question that I cannot erase from my mind these days. My thoughts and prayers are with all those in Haiti but I cannot help but question why? Why a nation that could not handle this disaster?

I don't think we can know the true answer to this. In times of disaster, I am always reminded how fortunate I am to be living the life I'm living.

I also think we're called to action. “For of those to whom much is given, much is required.”

Great quote. It can really be discussed at length but simply it really is just nobody's fault, I think. These natural disasters are just from mother nature – nowhere else. They happened long before there were people here to suffer from them. As for the poverty, it really is unfortunate but I truly think that people who do have things really do show that we can give, especially in times like these.
