From Metal to Classical

As I’ve said before I have very eclectic taste. Right now I’m exploring metal more and more.   I have fallen in love with this metal band Stratovarius.

I find this to be one of the most beautiful songs I have come across in a while. I especially love the interlude that occurs around 2:46. The song literally goes from metal to classical!

After watching the movie Taken I have fallen in love with this song. I even learned the piano part by ear *ish proud of self*

Still studying for exams…

But in my down time, here is me playing Mendelssohn’s Prelude in E Minor.

Winter Wind 3 Month progress!

I’ve been working on this song for 3 months now. I forgot the sheet music that day so I did it all from memory, not half bad (except for the part where i say “crap I forgot” or something along those lines). I can’t wait until I can play this song up to tempo!!

Did I ever tell you about Moszkowski??

Well he is my favorite composer.

Moritz (Maurice) Moszkowski (23 August 1854 – 4 March 1925) was a German Jewish composer, pianist, and teacher of Polish descent. Ignacy Paderewski said, “After Chopin, Moszkowski best understands how to write for the piano”. Although little known today, Moszkowski was well-respected and popular during the late nineteenth century

Chelsea Dock
